Gamelab.AI
I was obsessed with Unity and Godot game development when I first learned coding. As I was thinking more about how Claude is creating the concept of artifacts, it’s becoming increasingly easy to generate apps, but what about games?
What if we built a sophisticated game engine but each piece of it you can code using AI, allowing non-technical people to build games easily and ship them instantly?
I spent a day whipping up: https://gamelab-ai.vercel.app/
Gamelab is a no-code RPG game engine prototype I built to empower anyone to create their own Pokémon- or Zelda-style games, right from the browser. The platform combines intuitive tools for map design, asset import, character creation, and world building, with AI-powered assistance for crafting narratives, dialogues, and even animating sprites.
Right now, the game engine actually works. You can import sprite maps and tile maps and make a world. You can also animate a character to move based off of mouse command, and create collision elements.
More to come!
